Online: Search 20+ years of land records anytime at the Clerk’s portal — arlington.lr-1.com. Online you can look up recorded deeds, mortgages, and liens, and order copies. In person the office also handles:

  • Voter checklist: residents 18+ may be added for any upcoming election.
  • Vital records: certified birth, death, and marriage certificates on application.
  • Dog licenses: due April 1st — $15 spayed/neutered, $19 otherwise.
  • Green Mountain Passports: free State Park admission for residents 62+ ($2 fee).
  • Hunting & fishing licenses and DMV registration renewals.

The Clerk’s online land-records portal at arlington.lr-1.com holds more than 20 years of recorded documents. Search by owner name or book/page, view the recorded image, and order certified copies without a trip to the office — helpful for title searches, refinancing, and property research.

Handles property-tax billing and collection and town finances. Property taxes are due November 4th each year; bills are mailed roughly 60 days in advance. Delinquent Tax Collector: Kendell Jennings — kendell.jennings@arlingtonvermont.org. Pay online, by mail, or at the Town Office.

Meters are read quarterly, with bills mailed in mid-April, July, October, and January. Pay by mail, by drop box (inside the front door of Town Hall), or online via Doxo — choose “Pay your town bill — Utilities.”

Water emergency (main break, no water, discoloration): call the operator’s cell at 802-378-5621, or after hours 802-379-9916.

Water meters are read quarterly and bills follow in mid-April, July, October, and January. For a main break, loss of pressure, or discolored water, reach Systems Operator Josh Brace directly on his cell — don’t wait for office hours.

Property-tax due dates & delinquency

Property taxes for the Town of Arlington are due annually on November 4th; bills are mailed to owners roughly 60 days in advance. Payments after the due date are handled by Delinquent Tax Collector Kendell Jenningskendell.jennings@arlingtonvermont.org. Contact the Treasurer’s office before the deadline if you need to arrange a payment plan.
